Battle PAss 3.0

Launch Date: December 4th, 2022

Description: In Fortnite Chapter 4, we introduced players to a whole new world of Fortnite. Players had a new island to explore, new vehicles to travel that island, and new weapons to fight each other with. In the Worldbuilding space, we revamped the Battle Pass system, and how we presented that Battle Pass to our players. This revamp collectively became known as “Battle Pass 3.0”

Execution: The redesign of Battle Pass 3.0 was interesting because the core goal of the pass was the same: deliver great content to players in a Battle Pass. Although the end goal of the battle pass was the same, we mostly worked on presenting the Battle Pass to players in a new way. In Battle Pass 3.0, I was responsible for….

  • All Battle Pass Content

  • Geralt of Rivia

  • Midseason Drops

  • Ensuring all of these are maintained throughout the season

Executing this Battle Pass 3.0 testing strategy was complex because despite the core goals of the pass remaining the same, the entire pass was rebuilt from a technical standpoint. As such, our testing strategy needed to be rebuilt as the pass was rebuilt. Overall the launch of Battle Pass 3.0 was executed very well, and players really enjoyed having a new Battle Pass to explore.
